State education agencies in the Midwest have a constellation of support available to them through the federally funded programs administered by Learning Point Associates and Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL). Learning Point Associates operates REL Midwest, the Great Lakes East Comprehensive Assistance Center (serving Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio), the Great Lakes West Comprehensive Assistance Center (serving Illinois and Wisconsin), and the National Comprehensive Center for Teacher Quality. McREL operates the North Central Comprehensive Center (serving Minnesota and Iowa in the Midwest region). Together, these programs offer content expertise, technical assistance, and resources to meet individual state needs and priorities related to NCLB implementation.

All of these centers are supporting REL Midwest’s first regional event, the Research to Action Forum. This invitational forum will bring together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners in a collaborative learning environment to determine how to improve state policy on teacher quality.
